Bison Wakilala Bright Up Essence
Bison Wakilala Bright Up Essence is a new tool that every girl should add to her arsenal. We put toner and exfoliants on our face, but what about our underarms? Shaving, sweat, and deodorant can leave us discolored and a bit funky under there. We’re all good girls who wash up, but let’s face it: who thinks about exfoliating their pits?
This is where Wakilala Bright Up Essence comes in. This Japanese product is a little bottle of sunshine for your underarms!
Think of it as a kind of toner for your armpits. It freshens, brightens, moisturizes, and removes dead skin and oil build up.
Now, when most of us think of exfoliating, scrubs come to mind. Cast that aside for this product, it’s a liquid. It uses AHA and BHA to do the dirty work. Scroll to the end of this post to find out about AHA and BHA.
How to use:
Use after shower or washing arm pits. Pat dry the application area to remove excess water. Soak a cotton pad or ball with the Bright Up Essence and apply to underarms as you would a facial toner. Allow the product to dry before you put on deodorant. You want to give it a chance to work and you don’t want to rub it off while it’s still wet.
Manufacture recommends using 2-3 times a week. Don’t apply to broken skin or immediately after shaving to avoid irritation.
I’ve used this up to twice a day with no issue and have found it to work very well. I noticed results within a week. (^_^)v

Baking Powder BB Deep Cleansing Foam
First off I want to thank you, xtiamotx, for the samples of this product. I finally had a chance to try it out and I absolutely love it. I haven’t tried it on my armpits yet like you suggested at the end of your post about it but I am planning to. I love the way my skin felt after using it and the fact that it removed my makeup better than any other cleanser I have tried before. This is a product that I will be purchasing in the near future.

TONYMOLY Peach Anti-aging Hand Cream
Who can resist the urge to try a hand cream that comes in a container this cute? Not me.
The first thing you notice when you open the jar is the sweet smell of juicy peaches. The scent falls in between soft and strong. It’s not delicate, yet not going to make your eyes water. It’s the right amount of peach without being overwhelming or smelling like perfume.
This is a moderately thick cream that is white in color and spreads well. It’s soft and doesn’t leave the hands greasy. It does a great job of moisturizing the hands and smoothing out the skin. The moisture effect is noticeable right away, but you’ll need to use the cream for a while to give it time to work if you want to witness the smoothing effects.
Unless you hate the smell of peaches, don’t pass this hand cream up! It’s worth a try even if you don’t want the anti-aging aspect.

Etude House Baking Powder BB Deep Cleansing Foam
As the name suggests this is a deep cleanser designed to easily remove BB cream. Orange and lemon peel oil give it a light citrus scent and it will produce a thick lather when rubbed between the palms with a little water. The cream contains a very small amount of micro-beads for a gentle exfoliating effect. This is very light, so this cleanser can be used daily.
I’m quite pleased with this product. It does a great job of removing my makeup without leaving any residue. I don’t always use BB cream or need such a deep level of clean so I alternate between this and Tonymoly Eggpore Soap.
I got thinking one evening and tried the BB cleanser on my armpits in the shower. Wow!! It does a better job than soap or body wash to remove the residue left behind from daily sweat and deodorant and without me having to scrub away with a washcloth. Since this cream lathers up so thickly I only need a small amount. If you decide to try this cleanser I encourage you to give it a shot on the underarms!
Bison Kenassy Hair Removal Puff
Does work? Yes. Is it the miracle hair remover you’re looking for? No.
What you see is what you get: a dense sponge with a rough pad glued to either side. It’s pretty obvious that you slough off the unwanted hair, and slough you do! This pad removes hair down to the opening of the follicle like shaving and doesn’t rip hairs out like waxing. While shaving removes hair by cutting, this puff removes the hair via abrasion. Just as you can feel a razor blade over your skin, you can feel the scrubbing of the pad.
I used the puff on my arms and legs (below the knee) and managed to successfully remove hair. This wasn’t a quick endeavor!! It took about two hours to do everything without trying to hurry. Sounds like a ton of time, but if you do it while watching TV or a movie like I did, it goes by much faster.
My arms and legs were left smooth in a manner comparable to shaving, but I wasn’t without aftereffects. The abrasion used to remove the hair also irritated my skin. The irritation manifested itself a few minutes after I was done while I was putting on lotion. It wasn’t painful, but itchy! I tried hard to not scratch and make things worse. I initially used a scented lotion from Hip Hop Candy and then realized it could be exacerbating the situation, so I removed the lotion and used a non scented alternative. I happened to have a tube of Eucerin Aquaphor ointment at hand and used that. It helped but my legs were still sensitive so I put on a pair of long socks and pulled them up to my knees. This helped since it kept anything from rubbing on my legs. I was fine from then and had no problem in the days after.
- No chance of cutting the skin
- No razor bumps
- Doesn’t have to be done in the shower
- Doesn’t require water or cream
- It takes time, shaving is quicker
- Abrasion can irritate the skin
- Can’t be used on the bikini or other sensitive areas
- Not so easy to come by if you live outside of certain areas of Asia
The final verdict? It’s so-so.
It didn’t do anything that shaving wouldn’t. It just uses a different method and has its own form of irritating after-effects. For most people, shaving is quicker and easier. I’ll continue to use my puff until it dies, but probably won’t reorder. It was fun to test, though.

ƪ(♥ﻬ♥)ʃ Purikura ƪ(♥ﻬ♥)ʃ
Alright, I’ll admit it. I love purikura apps. >.<
As if my blog hasn’t already given this away.
Purikura, short for ‘print club’ refers to the photo-booth craze in Japan. These aren’t tiny snap and print booths either. Some are big enough to hold a small army of friends, and all offer lots of touch screen editing options from filters to frames to shapes and text.
Short of lugging around a photo-booth, you can cutify your pics on the go with purikura apps for android and iphone.
Best part of it all. They’re free!
Well, not every single one of them, but there are tons of completely free apps to chose from. My personal favorite is DECOPIC, which offers a wide range of free and premium (for a small fee) deco packs. These apps are available for Android and iPhone. Check out the apps listed below!

Hip Hop Candy
An artistic bath and body shop specializing in extreme cuteness. From the labels to the scents, it’s all cute. They offer lotions, body mists, body washes, roll on perfume oils, lip balms, and soy candles. Also available are some plushies and jewelry that features dozens of cute characters.
Pictured above is only a small selection of the products I own.
The plushie seen is the Candysaurus. In addition you can see one of their 4oz lotions (body wash also comes in this size,) some roll on perfumes and some body sprays. I figured there would be no point in taking a picture of all of my lotions at once! >.<
The prices are very reasonable, lotions start at $4 and they often have sales and discounts. The store is based in the US and has very good customer service.
Skinfood Peach Sake
Like many girls I have oily skin and enlarged pores on my forehead and cheeks. I gave Skinfood’s Peach Sake toner and serum a try and am glad I did.
Both products have a delightful peach scent and don’t smell like alcohol. The bottles are glass, and the caps are recyclable too, I believe.
The mouth of the toner’s bottle has a flat plastic cap with a small hole in the center which stops too much fluid coming out at once and helps reduce waste. In the past I’ve used toners with nothing like this in place and have gone through them very quickly, which is quite annoying.
The serum is of medium viscosity and is easily dispensed via a small pump. The pump doesn’t force out large amounts of lotion, so there’s not much worry about accidentally getting too much. I did find that it’s best to tilt the opening down toward my fingers and press the pump slowly. I started doing this when I initially mashed down on the pump too quickly and shot the lotion toward my palm. This isn’t due to any product defect, just human error.
After washing my face I use the toner and follow up with the serum. From there I add my moisturizer (and then my BB cream if I plan on leaving the house!)
The toner is a liquid and so is patted on. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth without drying. The serum comes in a lotion form so it must be gently rubbed in. Again, it leaves my face feeling soft and velvety. Afterward, my skin is softly scented by the product. No overwhelming smells.
